The Pattern

My mentor’s latest assignment challenged me to draw my strongest emotion, which he refers to as the ‘four phases of life.’ It begins with the earliest moment I lost my mother when I was just a child, leaving me with nowhere to turn. As I grew older, I felt a persistent cold and rain within me. I experienced the storm passing by, and then my grandfather passed away, followed by my grandmother, the last of them all. These four situations was the most important four moments of my life. Deep lost and more lost I guess. Mr. Coa smiled and just said “I want you to share this on your Facebook, Mr.Freedom Mercado your artwork will grow as well as your writing.” so I’m doing what he order to me to do. My inner self or refection , I see my future being alone in the storm. Much Love and Respect

To Be Truly, Alone …

To be Truly Alone
today, my whisk is a pen. I stir words into existence, creating a literary roux. The blank page is my canvas, and ink flows like melted chocolate. I write of flavors and textures, of journeys and revelations.

As a writer, I explore the nuances of taste. How does a strawberry feel against the tongue? What symphony of spices lingers after a curry? I delve into metaphors, comparing a well-seared steak to a love letter—both require patience and precision. In my quiet moments, I imagine a grand feast. The table stretches beyond the horizon, laden with stories and sustenance. Guests arrive—characters from forgotten novels, poets who speak in stanzas of saffron and cinnamon.

And there, at the head of the table, I sit. Chef and writer, creator and curator. My apron is stained with ink, my fingers bear the scars of countless knife cuts. But I am whole.

For in this embrace of flavors and words, I find solace. The kitchen and the study, the stove and the Laptop—they are my dual canvases. And as I blend ingredients and sentences, I realize that art has no boundaries.

So Wanna Write What???

I recently encountered a group of individuals at a Writer’s Convention. Known as the Talented Gents, they indulge in smoking among other things, yet their conversations revolve around inspiration and creative dialogues. Some have penned scripts for shows from ‘Babylon 5’ to ‘Legacy’ on Netflix, while others have authored graphic novels. To imagine being a writer of such caliber was once only a dream for me. Now, I’ve been presented with an opportunity to work alongside one of these writers. Thus, my adventure commences! see more at Gateway graphics click on logo to see more
